The Elementary School implements a project-based learning approach within its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) curriculum, promoting collaborative planning across all disciplines. Students are introduced to novels and literary themes that are explored across all core subjects. Each term, as part of our middle school programs, students complete an interdisciplinary project that addresses inquiry questions raised throughout the units. Following the engineering process, they draft, build, and revise their products, ultimately presenting their final results to teachers and peers for feedback. Additionally, French and English are taught as second foreign languages, forming an integral part of the language curriculum.
Middle school programs at Greenfield College provide students with numerous opportunities for self-development and growth. Through clubs, sports, and extra-curricular activities, students are encouraged to enhance the skills learned in their classes. A strong focus on a STEAM curriculum offers hands-on practice in Chemistry and Physics Labs, as well as in the Microsoft Showcase ITMS Labs. Additionally, the emphasis on project-based learning and real-life applications of a well-developed curriculum ensures that students are well-prepared for official examination programs and entry into pre-IB programs.
