Meeting the Minister

International Baccalaureate students are encouraged to challenge themselves and their peers.  These four students took the initiative to ask for a meeting with Minister of the Environment, Mr. Tarek Khatib, and made the most of the opportunity when their request was granted.

Rules of the Road

IB students met with Mr. Fady Gebrane, president of Kunhadi, to learn about road safety initiatives in Lebanon.  Mr. Gebrane graciously shared information about campaigns, goals, and the tragic event that led to the inception of his NGO.  This interview was the beginning of a road safety campaign the students are starting.  We hope to update you with news of their continued efforts soon. Thank you, Kunhadi, for your efforts and time.

GFC seniors brought a little science into the holidays with a creative chemical creation. Grade 5 students created stunning trees out of recyclable materials as well.  Holiday spirit was on full display in 2016.  We can't wait to see what 2017 brings!

He Did it Again!

GFC second grader, Adam Msheik, won first prize in his age division at the PAMA 2016 competition in South Korea.  500 competitors representing 20 countries exercised their mental math skills and 7 Lebanese students brought home prizes. Congratulations, Adam, we're very proud of you!
