All academic matters at Greenfield College are discussed and overseen by the Academic Committee that in turn reports directly to the Academic Director.

Programs Followed


Greenfield College offers four academic programs: The Lebanese program, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, the High School program and an optional French Baccalaureate program. The IB DP is offered in Grades 11 and 12. The Lebanese Program Lebanese Program Candidates must first obtain the Lebanese Brevet certificate at the end of Grade 9 in order to obtain the Lebanese Baccalaureate at the end of Grade 12. The Lebanese program at Greenfield College has two sections: an English-based and French-based section. These sections are available from pre-nursery up to the upper secondary classes. In the English Section, Math and Sciences are taught in English. English is taught as first foreign language while French is taught as a second foreign language. Arabic is taught as main language. In the French Section, Math and Sciences are taught in French. French is taught as first foreign language while English is taught as a second foreign language. Arabic is taught as main language. The Social Studies program (History and Geography) is taught in both Arabic and in the first foreign language for both English and French sections for the Elementary Classes. Social studies is taught in grades 6 and 7 in the first foreign language (English or French) and in Arabic only for grades 8 to 12. In addition, we have recently integrated logic and social science courses in all Elementary classes

Remedial Work and Reinforcement sessions


Greenfield College offers extra sheets to students who have not acquired at least 40% of the objectives in the core subjects. This work totally depends on the ongoing assessment of the objectives that the teachers do. The school also offers reinforcement afternoon sessions for the students who have weakness in certain subjects. In summer, students whose grades are below academic standards are required to take summer courses. Repeating a class

The school reserves the right to ask students to repeat a class if not all passing requirements are met.


The High School Program


Eligible Candidates for the High School program must be students who have a foreign nationality or a second nationality beside Lebanese. All such students must present an exemption form from the Ministry of Education in Lebanon to be allowed into the High School program. High School students are offered other courses and different electives such Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Introduction to Engineering, Medical Biology, First Aid, Graphic Design, Psychology, Spanish and Economics. High School students should also enroll in a community service program.


Passing Rrequirements


To successfully complete a class at Greenfield College, students must: 1- Have a record of regular attendance. 2 - Have a satisfactory disciplinary record. 3- Have a minimum total average of 60%. 4 - Have no failing grades in the core subjects. (Note: In the case of a passing general average and a failing grade in any core subject, the student will be given a chance for a make-up exam.
